Today, getting dressed, I wore my teal/blue dress with a brand new lacey blue/green sweater over it, that I got this weekend. Then because I didn't want cold legs, I wore my royal blue leggings underneath the dress. Therefore, when I got to work today, one of the design managers saw me, and was like, " Oh, you're dressed for the Pantone color of the year!!!". I was? Hmm....then I saw the Pantone link http://www.pantone.com/pages/fcr.aspx?pg=21016&ca=4&d=1), and sure enough I am dressed to matched. She claimed I'm on trend. I think I was just dressing comfortably, and warmly. I think emerald is an inept name for the color. It's really more like Tantalizing Turquoise or something.
I guess what irks me about the Pantone color of the year, is that they announce the color at the end of the year, once all the designs for the coming year are done. I don't know if Pantone secretly tells clothing manufactures what the color is, but how are designers supposed to design to a color if we don't know what it is???
Anyways, I want Made in USA to be "on trend" more than one silly color.
